OUR SUPERVISORY BOARD

We are lucky to have six prominent healthcare experts who bring their professional experiences and perspectives to our work. The members of the OptiMedis Supervisory Board are Dr. Hajo Hessabi (Chair), Prof. Dr. Heike Köckler (Vice Chair), Prof. Dr. Lutz Hager, Prof. Dr. Ilona Kickbusch, Angela Lawaldt and Prof. Dr. Kai Wehkamp.

Prof. Dr. Gerd Glaeske

Dr. Hajo Hessabi (Chair)

Dr. Hajo Hessabi works as an independent management consultant in the healthcare sector, as a senior advisor for top management consultancies, as an advisory board member in various start-ups and as an author. From 2017 to 2021, he was Deputy Chairman of the Board of DAK-Gesundheit and was largely responsible for its turnaround, IT migration and cultural change. Previously, he worked for Asklepios and Kliniken Schmieder as managing director for more than four years.

Prof. Dr. Heike Köckler

Prof. Dr. Heike Köckler (Vice Chair)

Prof. Dr. Heike Köckler is a spatial planner and has worked in various contexts on health-promoting urban development and social inequalities in health, especially with a focus on environmental justice. She has contributed to various working aids for health-promoting urban development and has been a professor for social space and health at the Department of Community Health at the Hochschule für Gesundheit in Bochum since 2015.

Dr. Manfred Richter-Reichhelm

Prof. Dr. Lutz Hager

Prof. Dr. Lutz Hager is Professor of Healthcare Management at SRH Fernhochschule GmbH – The Mobile University. He has been Chairman of the Board of the Bundesverband Managed Care e.V. since April 2022 and Deputy Chairman of the Gesundheitsplattform Rhein-Neckar e.V. since 2020. He is also a member of the international Sciana Health Leaders Network.

Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Ilona Kickbusch

Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Ilona Kickbusch

Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Ilona Kickbusch is one of the leading experts in international health policy. Among other things, she was the initiator of the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion and worked at the WHO for many years. She currently works as a professor at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva and as an independent public health consultant. She has received, among others, the Federal Cross of Merit and a WHO medal for her contribution to global health.

Dr. Manfred Richter-Reichhelm

Angela Lawaldt

Angela Lawaldt is Managing Partner at BonVenture and has been an impact investor there since 2009. Before that, the psychology graduate gained business experience as a management consultant. She has also founded three start-ups in the fields of medical technology, education and most recently digital health. She built up impact expertise at Ashoka Germany, where she led the selection of trend-setting social entrepreneurs and managed the investor network for two years.

Prof. Dr. Gerd Glaeske

Prof. Dr. Kai Wehkamp

Prof. Dr. med. Kai Wehkamp, MPH is Professor of Public Health at the MSH Medicalschool Hamburg and Managing Senior Physician at the Clinic for Internal Medicine I, Kiel, at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein. The focus of his practical and scientific work is on digitally supported care processes at the intersection of medicine, economics, ethics and quality.
