Internationalization, new projects and more innovation: all signs indicate growth for OptiMedis AG. In February the Board gave its full support to founder Dr Helmut Hildebrandt to tackle these opportunities, appointing Dr Alexander Pimperl and Dr Oliver Gröne, who bring with them a wealth of experience, to the OptiMedis management team. "We are now setting the course for our new growth strategy, and we can devote a great deal of effort to establishing further regional healthcare contracts in Germany and abroad," says Hildebrandt who, as CEO, chairs the Board of Directors.

Dr Oliver Gröne is responsible for the Research & Development and Organization departments, and takes over, amongst others, cooperation with our British counterparts in the implementation of population-based, integrated healthcare models in the National Health Service. The health scientist has been Head of Research & Development at OptiMedis since 2015; he previously worked as an associate professor in health services research at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, evaluating and improving healthcare quality. He also spent several years working for the World Health Organization in Barcelona, Copenhagen and Geneva.

Dr Alexander Pimperl has taken over the Finance and Data Analysis department, where he is responsible for contract negotiations and discussions with health insurance providers, investors and financiers to generate the required start-up investments. Dr Pimperl completed his doctorate at the University for Health Sciences, Medical Informatics and Technology in Hall, Tirol, in the Department of Health Economics. In 2007 he began setting up the Health Data Analytics section at OptiMedis AG. From 2015 to 2016, he conducted research in the USA, as a Harkness Fellow in Health Care Policy and Practice (The Commonwealth Fund).

The Supervisory Board has been expanded to include two new members: Professor Ilona Kickbusch, a world-renowned expert in Health Policy, and Professor Heike Köckler, Professor of Social Space and Health in Bochum.
