Picker Institut Deutschland and OptiMedis: Collaboration in Common Spaces

Improving the quality of care from the patients´ point of view: this is a shared goal of the Picker Institute Germany gGmbH and OptiMedis AG. With the staff of Picker Institute Germany now sharing office spaces with OptiMedis AG further steps for a close cooperation have been made. In the previous years, the scientific institute specialised in survey methodologies and the management and holding company have already successfully collaborated on various developmental projects, working groups and in project coordination.

Maria Nadj-Kittler, Managing Director of Picker Institute Deutschland:

"Good quality of care and high patient safety can only be guaranteed without sector boundaries. Achieving this is a challenging task that requires close collaboration with like-minded actors. Our two institutions share the same values as well as a set of common goals, ideally complementing each other. By analyzing the data collected and released in both, primary and secondary care, new findings emerge that can be used to design innovative care concepts and thus contribute to the promotion of patient centered care."

Dr. Oliver Gröne, Vice Chairman of the Board of OptiMedis AG:

“The goals of both Picker and OptiMedis are 100% aligned, a closer collaboration is a natural step for our organisations. Together we can now offer a 360° assessment of the quality of care, addressing the key quality dimensions of patient safety, clinical effectiveness, patient experience and staff experience. More importantly, we want to promote patient-centred care at national level and internationally and bring together our expertise to truly make a difference to the way health care is organised.”
